What is Division Improvement?
If any candidate from IGNOU scores just 2% lesser marks to secure the 1st Division or 2nd Division in the Master or Bachelor degree then he/she has an opportunity to secure the 1st Division or 2nd Division by IGNOU Improvement Examination.

Important Dates for Submission of IGNOU Improvement Form 2024
For June 2024 Session: If any candidates want to appear in the June term-end examination then he/she must submit their improvement exam form between 1st April to 30th April to the concerned department of IGNOU University.
For Dec 2024 Session: If any candidate wants to appear in December TEE then he/she should submit their improvement form between 1st October to 31st October. A late Application form after the given deadline will not acceptable so candidates have to submit the form before the due date to prevent future issues.
IGNOU Improvement Exam Fee 2024
- Rs. 750 per subject (Students from India)
- Rs. 2000 per subject (SAARC Countries)
- USD 60 per subject (Non-SAARC Countries)
Payment Method:
- Candidates have to pay the requisite fees through Demand Draft which must be made in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi.

Things to Consider while Applying for Improvement in IGNOU
- IGNOU Improvement facility is available only for one time
- The improvement facility is available only for theory subjects or papers
- The improvement facility is limited to Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree courses only
- The better marks will be taken into consideration while updating IGNOU Result and IGNOU Grade Card
- The program must be completed
- The student will not eligible to apply for improvement if the admission, as well as re-admission, was expired
- Candidates have to apply for improvement only within 6 months after the declaration of the final result.

I passed my masters exam in economics of which I got the result in the month of march. I received my pass certificate just recently in last month. I want to appear in the improvement exam as I got 1-2% below a certain level which is much below my expectation. It has already been more than 6 months since the declaration of result. I got c grade in assignment and D grade in theory paper in Bed course. In the grade card the subject shows incomplete. IGNOU rules says C grade in assignment is pass and D grade in theory paper is pass then why grade shows incomplete

But now my form is been rejected because of filling form for more than the allowed number of papers i.e. i was allowed to fill for 2 exams but instead i filled it for 4 exams. I have got my Admission in January 2018 for MLIS & I had completed my degree in TEE June 2020 with 53% marks. But I needed 55% marks to be eligible for UGC/NTA.NET and for applying for job on Librarian posts. I then applied for Divisional Improvement exam in TEE DEC 2020 for one paper, held on 8th Feb.2021. My Result update came on 19th May 2021 but unfortunately my marks aggregated to 54% now. I’m in dare need of 55% marks. Kindly suggest me, shall I be eligible to equalise my percentage to 55% by appearing again in examination for other one paper that has least marks. I don’t want that my cherished career be ruined. Kindly help with your kind resolution to help improve my marks to the required percentage.

I am student of IGNOU bsc course, June 2021 was last attempt, as due to COVID, there is some changes in protocols, I have completed 22/24 subjects, and I had completed my time duration to complete that course. According to IGNOU it was my last attempt in June 2021, I have given my 2 exam in which i got less marks means, they have failed me in che-04, as I m unsatisfied my result. I got 10/50 which below then my second Last attempt, I have applied for re evaluation for my exam, can there is any other way to give improvement in marks or because according to IGNOU it was my last attempt, I don’t want to lose my degree and effort, I have scored good marks in practicals and exam. I gave the July 2021 session exam for MA (History) 2nd year and my percentage is falling short of the 55% required for PhD admissions. Is it possible for me to give my improvement exam in December 2021, or will I have to wait till June next year to be eligible. If I can appear in December 2021, does that affect the last date for form submission? Awaiting an early reply.
