No Exemption from Submission of IGNOU Assignments for TEE June 2020

FAQs and Clarifications regarding IGNOU Promotion – A lot many students are confused about the IGNOU assignments for TEE June 2020. They are confused whether they are exempted from the assignments too when the university has exempted the students from appearing in the exam.

Official Notification for Assignment

Recently, IGNOU has released a notice stating that students who were supposed to appear for June 2020 exam are now exempted from it. Of course, students who still wish to appear for the exam can get registered for the examination coming up in February 2021. But otherwise, for all other students, marks for this exam will be provided based on the other exams. For example, someone who was supposed to appear in the first year exam will be marked as per their second year exam and vice versa.

But this does not the same in the case of the IGNOU assignments. Though the students are exempted from the TEE June 2020 exam, they are not exempted from the assignments for June 2020.

Along with the notice for the exam exemption, IGNOU has also released a notice on 16th December 2020 stating several answers to the questions that many students have. These questions are related to the term end exam as well as assignments for June 2020.

In this notice, the university has offered the list of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects along with the date of registration of the students as per which the candidates will be exempted from the exams for June 2020. It has been also cleared in this list that none of the candidates is exempted from submission of assignments.

Thus, you need to submit the assignments in the same way how used to do earlier regularly. So, the scoring system will be based on the marks that you have scored in the assignments as well as the exams that you have scored in your other exams.

UG Promotion

As per the latest clarification notice, the CBCS candidates who registered in July 2019 for courses including BAG, BCOMG, BSCG and others will be promoted to the 2nd year without appearing in the first year. The old bachelor degree courses inlcuding BA, BCom, BTS and others will be promoted to the 3rd year without appearing for the 2nd year. The BCA candidates will be excempted from appear for January 2020 session registration semester upto 5th semester (For example: If you register for 2nd semester BCA in Jan 2020 session then you will be promoted to the 3rd semester).

PG Promotion

All master degree courses of 2 years duration will be excemption from appearing for 1st year and will be promoted to the 2nd year only for the students registered in the July 2019 session. The prmotion will be applicable for MCA students upto 5th semester while for MBA, MACS & MBA B&F, the student will get benefit of promotion for the 1st and 3rd semester registered in the Jan 2020 session.

Procedure to Opt for Promotion

Students who wish to enjoy this exemption have to complete online registration for the same. The university will soon release a form that the candidates have to fill in and submit by 31st January 2021 tentatively. The authorities have mentioned the candidates to keep on checking the IGNOU website time to time to get details about the form and the registration process.

Procedure to Appear for June 2020 without Promotion

If you are someone who does not wish to stay exempt from the exam and wish to appear for it, you can surely do it. You can appear in the exam that will take place in  the February 2021. For doing so, you have to complete the submission of IGNOU Exam form for TEE Dec 2020 by 31st December 2020.

A lot of students may have confusion whether this exemption is going to delay their completion of course or not. In this released notice itself, the university has made it clear that this exemption is not going to delay your course completion. In fact, it is going to help the candidates in completing the course much faster. Also, it states that such an action has been taken to offer a helping hand towards the students.
