IGNOU MPATA Syllabus

IGNOU MPATA Syllabus – Candidates can find latest session Syllabus Structure for MPATA Programme from here. IGNOU New MPATA Syllabus is available with credit system in which each of the courses is given appropriate credit. IGNOU has implemented credit system in MPATA courses which is useful for course selection at the time of taking admission and for re registration.

MPATA Candidates have to choose their required credit courses at every semester or at every year to complete their MPATA (Master of Performing Arts (Theatre Arts)) Programme. There are many courses available for MPATA course selection in which some of as a compulsory course and some of as an optional course.

History and Development of Modern Western Drama
Fundamentals of Acting
Fundamentals of Theatre Design

2nd Semester
History of Classical Indian Drama
History and development of Classical, Neo Classical and Elizabethan Theatre
Acting Theory and Practical
Technical Theatre (Lighting)
Scene Work(Sanskrit/Classical)
Major Production(Realistic Play)
3rd Semester
Folk and Traditional Theatre of India and Southeast Asia
Makers of Modern Theatre-Indian and Western
Fundamentals of Play Direction
Technical Theatre (Costumes, Make-up, Mask making)
Theatre for children: Theory and Practice
Scene Work (Narrative/Non-realistic)
4th Semester
Aesthetics: Indian and Western
Media Appreciation: Dance, Music, Painting, Film, Television with relation to Theatre
Specialization: Direction, Acting, Design, Theatre for Children
Theatre Research: Seminar Presentation
