The IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam was successfully conducted on March 16, 2025, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode across multiple centres in India.
The online registration window for the entrance exam closed in the last week of February 2025 (officially around February 28, 2025).
No hard copies of the application form were accepted, as the entire process was conducted online via the IGNOU B.Ed Samarth portal.
The IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Result 2025 has been declared on July 4, 2025, by the Student Evaluation Division (SED).

IGNOU Bed Eligibility 2025
• A Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Science, Social Science, Commerce or Humanities from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50% marks.
• OR, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (with specialization in Science and Mathematics) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• Trained in-service teachers in elementary education are also eligible.
• Candidates must have completed a teacher education programme (e.g., D.El.Ed, B.T.C) through face-to-face mode and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
• Reserved-category candidates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD) are eligible for relaxation in minimum marks as per university norms (often 45%).
• There is no upper age limit for the IGNOU B.Ed admission.

- Visit the official B.Ed application portal: https://ignou-bed.samarth.edu.in
- Click Register if you are a new user and provide your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email. Note down your system-generated application number.
- Login using your credentials and fill the Application Form:
- Enter personal and academic details
- Choose preferred exam centre(s)
- Upload a scanned copy of your passport-size photograph and signature (as per file size and format specifications)
- Pay the application fee of ₹1,000 online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
- After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page for your records.
- IGNOU may open a short correction window after submission to edit minor mistakes—keep checking the official portal regularly.
Note: For the January 2025 session, the last date to submit the application was February 21, 2025 (as per IGNOU’s notice). Make sure all details are accurate before submission—no hard copy of the form should be sent.

IGNOU Bed Fees Structure 2025
• The total fee for the two-year IGNOU B.Ed programme (ODL mode) is approximately ₹ 55,000. (≈ ₹ 27,500 per year)
• The fee is payable after selection via merit list; the application (entrance) fee is separate (₹ 1,000) at the time of form submission.
• Payment may be accepted via Demand Draft or other modes (online/instalments) as per the Regional Centre’s instructions—candidates should refer to their offer letter for exact mode.

IGNOU Bed Entrance Exam Structure or Pattern
The entrance paper is divided into two parts: Part-A and Part B. There will be 100 objective-type questions that are divided into Part A and Part B. All questions are multiple-choice questions. Candidates have to choose one right answer from 4 options. For each correct answer, you will get 1 mark while for any unanswered or wrong question, 0 marks will be awarded. There will be no negative marking in the exam.

IGNOU Bed Merit List 2025
After the declaration of the entrance result, IGNOU’s regional centres publish the merit list / offer of admission based on entrance score, eligibility verification, category, seat availability and the RC’s criteria. For the January 2025 session, the result was declared on 16 June 2025.
What to do if you are shortlisted:
- Report to the respective Regional Centre (RC) as per the schedule listed in the merit list.
- Carry original documents (eligibility certificate, teacher-education certificate, category certificate, photo ID, etc.) and self-attested copies.
- Pay the programme fee (approximately ₹ 55,000 for the full two-year B.Ed ODL programme) as per the offer letter’s instructions. Payment may include Demand Draft or other modes accepted by your RC.
- Complete the admission formalities (document verification, fee payment, joining instructions) within the deadline specified by your RC.
Note: The merit list is published region-wise / cluster-wise. Visit your Regional Centre’s official website or the IGNOU B.Ed admission portal for the final merit list and admission schedule.
Instructions for IGNOU Bed Entrance Candidates
- Calculators and other calculation tools, books, and notes are not allowed in the Exam room
- Candidate must reach to exam centre before 9:30 AM because the exam will start from 10:00 AM and over at 12:00 PM
- If candidates are found to be copied from any other’s answer sheet then he/she will be disqualified
- Pay fees after getting shortlisted in the merit list
- Also, submit Score Card and original call letter to the regional centre
- Use the original answer sheet for rough work
