2. Create a Study Plan

Nothing works well without proper planning. So, when you are starting to prepare for your exams, you must first plan your execution well. Start by creating a weekly routine that includes all the subjects equally. Offer an equal amount of hours and attention to all the subjects so that you can complete the syllabus on time. Your study plan must include studying as well as practice sessions simultaneously.

3. Intensive Study Sessions

If you want to score high in the exams, you must indulge in intensive study sessions. Do not make the mistake of leaving out any chapter or topic. It may happen that you will get a question from a part that you have not studied. So, one by one, go through the whole syllabus. In case of doubts, you can always get in touch with the experts at the university through physical classes or even online sessions.

4. Improve Handwriting

While some questions may be in MCQ format, you will also get questions for which you have to write long answers. So, you must maintain a clear and understandable handwriting to fetch good marks. If you are blessed with good handwriting, just maintain it. However, if not then you must practice to improve your handwriting. IGNOU offers marks for a good presentation and handwriting is a major factor in this. Also, it may happen at times that you may have lost marks only because the checker did not understand what you have written. So, while you are preparing for the exams, you must also focus on improving your writing skills.

5. Download IGNOU Previous Year Question Paper

Alongside gathering your study materials, you also must download the previous year’s question papers. You can easily get these question papers on the IGNOU portal. Experts have mentioned that practicing question papers will help you in preparing for your exams in a much better manner.

6. Understand the IGNOU Exam Pattern

Often students take up a lot of time during the initial few minutes of the exam in understanding the exam pattern and format. Many other students may start answering the question without checking the format and may end up getting confused later on. If you do not want to fall into either of the categories, you must understand the exam pattern in advance. Different subjects may have different exam patterns. So, one of the best ways is to check out the previous year’s question papers.

7. Attempt All Questions

Whether you are practicing question papers, doing assignments, or appearing in exams, you must attempt all questions. When you practice all questions while practicing the previous year’s question papers, you are covering different areas of the syllabus to prepare better. During the exams, if you miss out on any of the questions, ultimately you will lose marks. However, if you attempt that question and write anything that you know about it, there still remains a chance that you may get at least some marks for it.

8. Practice Well for Time Management

Another essential element on which students often fail is time management. Students start answering the questions with full dedication from the start and then may end up with fewer time for the remaining questions. It may even happen that you may not be able to complete the question paper due to time constraints. So, you must focus on time management too during your exam preparations. Practice as many question papers as possible and keep a timer each time when you are doing so. You may face difficulty in completing the questions comfortably in the initial few sessions. However, soon with practice, you will gain the skill of completing the questions on time.

9. Keep Time for Revision

A lot of students end up getting lower grades because they do not start exam preparations on time. Such students end up with books in hand even when they are entering the exam hall. As a result, you are not confident enough during the exam. So, the ideal case is to start your preparations at the earliest so that you have enough time to complete the syllabus. Also, you must plan your schedule in such a way that you can have enough time for revision after your syllabus completion.

Revision is extremely essential as it helps you in getting a reminder of the points that you have covered. Also, it is during the revision that you might come across such parts they might have missed out somehow. So, you can complete those unfinished parts during the revision. Also, it is during the revision that you can polish once again those parts that are difficult for you.

10. Take Special Health Care

Both physical health and mental health are essential while appearing for any exam. So, you eat healthy, get ample sleep, drink lots of water, and practice meditation along with studying. A tired mind and a weak body may often lead to lower confidence. So, you must keep your health in check so that you can appear in your exams with utmost confidence.

We always advise our students that do not to write an essay for each question in their answer script but yes, some of the questions have a requirement of a good length of the answer. Write all your answers point wise which is helpful for the evaluator to read the answer and you may be able to get good marks for good writing. Explain each of the points in a clear manner.

If you follow our given instructions for your study then we are sure that you will get good marks in your upcoming term-end examination which increases your confidence in your study with IGNOU. We also want to inform students that the IGNOU Assignment and Previous Session Question Papers are already available at our IGNOUHelp site for download.
