IGNOU Fee Exemption for July 2024 Session – IGNOU has officially announced fee reimbursement for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories who want to take admission to IGNOU for July 2024 session. Candidates of these categories will receive their fees refunded after filling out an application form and submitting it to the concerned authority with related documents it.
Candidates need to submit this application form to the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre from where they took admission in the current session. Candidates have to read the complete notification of fee reimbursement which was recently released by IGNOU Head Office.

IGNOU has released the Fee Reimbursement Form 2024 for all the students coming from backward categories of the society such as SC and ST. All the students who wish to make use of the fee waiver facility must fill in the form and submit it with all the required documents at the Regional Centres of the university.
IGNOU offers the facility of fee reimbursement to the students who come from the backward category of the society and face financial difficulties. The university offers such facility to the students to accomplish its aim to spreading literacy to a wider strata of the society. Eligibility
Students have to fulfil a number of eligibility criteria in order to avail of the fee reimbursement feature of the university.
- The fee reimbursement is available only for specific courses such as BAM, BCOMF, BSCM, and others. Talk to your Regional Centre to know whether you can avail the fee waiver with your registered course or not.
- You must be from the SC or ST category of the society. You must submit your category certificate during form submission.
- Your last year’s family income has to be lesser than 2.5 lacs. You must present the family income certificate while submitting the form.
- Students willing to avail fee-waiver must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 300 and a development fee of Rs. 200.
IGNOU Fee Refund Application 2024
Interested candidates who wish to apply for IGNOU fee waiver can download the Fee Refund Application by following these steps.
Step – 1 – You will get the IGNOU Fee Refund Application form from the official portal http://ignou.ac.in/.
Step – 2 – Under Student Zone, click on Student Zone
Step – 3 – Now search for Forms from the options available.
Step – 4 – On the left column, you will get the option of SC/ST Fee Reimbursement, on which you much click.
Step – 5 – On the next page, click on Fee Reimbursement Form to download it.
How to Avail Fee Exemption for SC/ST 2024?
Just getting the fee reimbursement form is not enough, it is just the starting. You must know the method on how to avail of the facility.
Step – 1 – Download the Fee Exemption/ Reimbursement form and fill it up.
Step – 2 – Attach the necessary documents that are your caste certificate, family income certificate, and a cancelled check of the account number where you want your fee amount.
Step – 3 – Submit the form along with the documents to the Regional Centre from where you have taken admission.
The officials at the Regional Centre will guide you through other necessary steps if required.
Apart from fee reimbursement, there are also some courses for which the university offers fee exemption for students coming from the SC/ST category. The students must upload their caste certificate on the admission portal to avail the fee exemption facility.
IGNOU SC/ST Free Course List 2024
While IGNOU offers fee reimbursement for some courses, the university also offers certain free courses to candidates coming from the SC and ST categories.
Under the Bachelors Degree program, these three courses are free for the SC/ST candidates:
- Bachelor of Science (General)
- Bachelor of Commerce General)
- Bachelor of Arts (General)
Apart from the Bachelor’s degree, there are also many free courses under the Certificate Program, Post Graduate Certificate Program, Diploma Program, and Post Graduate Diploma Program. Important Instructions for IGNOU Fee Waiver Scheme
- The scheme is now extended to the academic programs for the July 2024 cycle for SC/ST students. You can see the list of courses for more details.
- The eligible students may opt for fee reimbursement at the time of online application of July 2024 and submit the scanned copy of their caste certificate to verify the claim of fee reimbursement by the candidates. The certificate for the same will be verified online by the online admission department so you don’t have to submit any offline form for the same.
- Employed applicants or beneficiaries of similar benefits from other sources will not be eligible for fee reimbursement.
- The student who is already enrolled in a degree program or admitted to the certificate or diploma program is not eligible for fee reimbursement for the diploma/certificate program as it is valid only for one program at a time.
- IGNOU Fee Reimbursement Applications will be accepted only until the closing of the current admission session. No reimbursement application will be entertained after this date.
- The Fee reimbursement is applicable for fresh admission in the July 2024 session as well as re-registration for the next year or semester.
