IGNOU Fee Exemption for SC/ST Students 2025: Eligibility, Free Courses List

IGNOU Fee Reimbursement IGNOU has officially continued the fee support/exemption scheme for SC/ST learners for the July 2025 admission cycle. Eligible candidates in specific undergraduate programmes can claim fee support by uploading their documents during online admission or as directed by their Regional Centre. IGNOU Fee Reimbursement / Exemption Form 2025

For fresh admission in the July 2025 cycle (eligible UG programmes), learners choose the SC/ST Fee Exemption option on the online admission portal and upload the required certificates. Some Regional Centres also publish a Registration Form for Fee Reimbursement under SCSP/TSP (mainly for specific cases and re-registration). Check your RC announcement page for the current form and instructions. IGNOU provides this support to widen access to higher education for marginalized communities. The scheme’s 2025 continuation and operational details were reconfirmed via University notifications and Regional Centre circulars.

Eligibility (July 2025)

  • Category: Applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category and upload a valid caste certificate.
  • Family Income: Annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh (FY 2024-25 for July 2025 fresh applicants). Upload a valid income certificate as per your State’s norms.
  • Eligible Programmes (Fresh Admission): Select Undergraduate General programmes in BA / BCom / BSc only (as notified for 2025 cycles).
  • Fees to be paid by learner (Fresh Admission): Registration Fee ₹300 (non-refundable) + Development Fee ₹200 are payable even when availing the exemption.
  • Re-registration: SC/ST students who availed fee exemption at fresh admission remain eligible for fee support during re-registration as per University notifications for 2025. Some RCs specify the extent of support; follow your RC’s circular.
  • Not Eligible: Employed applicants drawing similar benefits or learners already availing fee support from other sources for the same programme are not eligible.

IGNOU Fee Refund / Reimbursement – How to Get the Form

  1. Visit the admission portal: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Choose the eligible UG programme and select the SC/ST Fee Exemption option (fresh admission).
  2. Upload the required documents (SC/ST certificate, income certificate, ID proof) in the specified fields and complete admission by paying the applicable ₹300 registration and ₹200 development fees.
  3. If your RC requires a separate form (mainly for re-registration/SCSP-TSP processing), download the Registration Form for Fee Reimbursement from your RC announcements page and submit it with documents at the RC within the cycle deadline.

How to Avail Fee Exemption for SC/ST (2025)

  1. Fill the online admission application and select the SC/ST Fee Exemption option (for eligible UG programmes).
  2. Upload: SC/ST Caste Certificate, Income Certificate (≤ ₹2.5 lakh), and other KYC documents.
  3. Re-registration: If you availed exemption earlier, choose the fee-support option during re-registration (or follow your RC’s fee-reimbursement form process where applicable).

    I had filled fresh Registration form for the course of MBA. I belong to SC community. I am unable to avail the exemption while i opted option fee exemption and i am unemployed. My family income is less than Rs.50000/-

    I am trying since last year for every session. But after filling the admission form, it takes me to payment page.

    1. I believe you need to pay the total amount first and then reach your Regional Center to fill out a Fee Reimbursement Form which will ask for your personal and bank details to get the fee deposited into your account in a few days.

      I suggest you go to the Regional Center first to confirm all this and take steps accordingly.
