IGNOU LAW Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Eligibility, Dates

IGNOU LAW Admission

IGNOU Law Admission 2025 is open for a range of diploma, postgraduate diploma, postgraduate certificate, and certificate programmes offered by the School of Law (SOL) in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. IGNOU does not offer the LLB degree because the Bar Council of India (BCI) does not recognise LL.B./LL.M. delivered in distance/online mode; therefore, professional law degrees must be pursued in regular full-time mode at BCI-approved institutions.

Benefits of studying law programmes at IGNOU include flexible pacing, national reach through Regional/Study Centres, and affordable fees compared with regular universities.

LLB from IGNOU University

IGNOU does not offer LL.B. The Bar Council of India continues to reiterate that LL.B./LL.M. through distance/online mode is not recognised; hence professional law degrees must be pursued in regular mode at BCI-approved centres of legal education. You may, however, complete an IGNOU degree (e.g., BA/MA) and then take a regular 3-year LL.B. at a BCI-approved university.
