IGNOU New Enrollment Number (10 Digits)

IGNOU enrollment number is now changed from 9 digits to 10 digits and the system is also upgraded to find their admission or registration status for July 2023 and Jan 2023 sessions. The new change was affected to the new students only who were admitted to or after Jan 2020 session while old session candidates prior to Jan 2020 session will able to check everything through their 9-digit enrollment number.

What is Control Number in IGNOU?

If you are a new student in IGNOU or want to take admission to IGNOU then it is natural that you don’t know about the control number so here is an answer to it. Control Number is an automatically generated 11 digit unique code that is sent to IGNOU students after the successful payment of admission fees at the IGNOU Online Admission portal. It is proof that IGNOU Head Office has received your online application for a particular program. Candidates can use this number to communicate with IGNOU for any grievance or query regarding admission.

IGNOU Admission Status page is now updated by the university for January 2023 and July 2023 session candidates. Now, new candidates are able to check their admission status without entering their 11 digit control number. How To Check IGNOU Admission Status 2023?

• First, Click on the admission status link and then go to the page of IGNOU online admission page.
• Here, Enter your registered username and password to login to the admission portal.
• Now, Click on the My Application tab to go to the page. Here, you will get to know all about your application to IGNOU.
• If it is showing as “Fresh Application” then it means that your application is in progress and will be verified soon.
• If it is showing as “Admission Confirmed” then your documents are verified by IGNOU and the application is now successfully approved.
• If it is showing as “Discrepancy” then you should remove and update the affected document again to verify your document for approval
• If it is showing as “Cancelled” then your request to cancel the IGNOU Admission Application is approved with the date of cancellation.

So If your admission is approved and confirmed then you can start your study with IGNOU. You can use your enrollment number for the exam, online hall ticket, result, grade card etc. If the verification of your documents is running then you can check your status after a few days. Earlier, the candidates have to enter the control number to get the status of their online application form. And after submission of the control number, the student was getting their status on the screen.

Important Note – Due to the overwhelming online applications at every session, the confirmation of admission for the session July 2023 may take a longer time than expected.
